Luxury Brand & Gaming: A Match Made in Metaverse

Luxury Brand & Gaming: A Match Made in Metaverse

Kim Kardashian walked down the red carpet at the Met Gala wrapped in an all-black gown by Balenciaga. Now the Georgian designer is displaying Balenciaga’s fall 2021 collection of “fit sets” via the collab. So not only did the 40-year-old Demna Gvasalia doll up Kim-K in Balenciaga head-to-toe look, but he is also dressing up the four characters of Fortnite.

On Sept 20, 2021 (8 pm EST), the fashion house and Epic Games announced a collaboration that will bring Balenciaga’s clothing and signatures into the Fortnite game. However, this is not the first partnership for Balenciaga. The French brand started with its own video game, Afterworld. Gvasalia teamed up with Fortnite’s developer Epic Games to provide its users with in-game outfits/skins, sprays, and accessories. At the same time, the clientele can buy original and actual merch IRL (in real life).

Since Venus is in its own sign, the businesses in the field of media, fashion, and gaming can look forward to a favourable time. Currently, due to Jupiter transit, Epic Games’ partnering with the French luxury house Balenciaga may turn out to be a GG (good game) strategy. The months till 2021 end can be OP (overpowered), but thereon it may lag a bit, creating a li’l tension.

But overall, Fornite’s performance in these few years’ time has shown its potential, and from Aug 18, 2021, to Oct 18, 2028, the time for Fortnite is going to be marvellous.

Fortnite released its Balenciaga collection within the game on Tuesday, Sept 21, at 5:30 a.m. IST. Players can buy these skins, cosmetic items, accessories via Fortnite’s official in-game store or by visiting Balenciaga’s digital storefront, known as the “Strange Times” hub.
