Mr. President, brace up for challenges, says Ganesha to Barack Obama

Endless speculations across the globe, fierce debates, months rallies around myriad cities and states of the U.S., numerous meetings, political ads and aggressive propaganda – all ended on November 6, 2012 with Mr. Barack Obama’s victory and emergence as the President of the most powerful and influential nation of the world. The triumph, Mr. Obama’s second for the presidential office, came after he defeated the Republican challenger, and quite popular himself, Mitt Romney. While some believe that the result of this closely and fiercely fought Presidential election shows how divided the U.S. is, as far as the national politics is concerned, some are in the favour of the opinion that Obama has been given one more chance to deliver his lofty promises, the fact that the second-term will let him finish what he had begun four years ago. Not that he was a failure in his 1st term as a President – for it can’t be forgotten or overlooked that it was during Obama’s tenure only that the world’s most wanted terrorist was brought down. Nonetheless, his 2nd and thus much-anticipated term in the office can become a lot more challenging for two obvious reasons – one, he will have to meet the standards he has set for his government, and second, he will have to make sincere, successful attempts to raise the bar. Besides, some grave issues like foreign policy crisis, fiscal deficit, recession, healthcare and immigration reform etc. need to be resolved at the earliest to safeguard the interests of the now-harried American population. Add to that the political gridlock in Washington, which if Obama fails to end can make him and his government nothing but a group of people who made empty promises.

The entire situation has given rise to many questions. Will Barack Obama be able to control the fiscal deficit and free the U.S. from the clutches of an imminent recession? Will the millions of unemployed U.S. citizens find job opportunities? What will be his stand against the now-burning issue between Iran and Israel? And, the most important of them all, will Barack Obama be overall successful in his second term? The mighty Barack Obama will take the oath as the President of the U.S. on 20th January, 2013. Ganesha, with the help of Vedic astrology prepares and analyses his Oath Chart and Inaugural Chart to find out what stars say about the future of Mr. President. Read on to know more.

The Oaths of office will be taken on January 29, 2013 and the Inaugural ceremony will be held on January 21, 2013. The Moon in the Oath Chart is severely afflicted in Bharani Nakshatra. In Inaugural Chart, Moon is exalted and conjuncts retrograde Jupiter in Krittika Nakshatra. Moon gets very disturbed due this alignment. The planetary configuration indicates that the President will have to face very demanding situations.

During 2013, Obama may spend most of his time struggling with the budget-related issues and healthcare reforms. Working on the framework for deficit reduction will strain his nerves during the first half of the year 2013. Mr Obama will find himself yet again, contending against an extremely divided Congress. As USA will be under the influence of the Mars-Rahu period till April 2013, a certain crisis may come out of nowhere, catching the President off guard. Besides, the Eurozone crisis will get worse by the day, and it will have some serious effects to the U.S. economy.

On a positive note, Ganesha says that Obama is going through a very powerful Saturn-Saturn period. As a result, the seeds of innovative ideas and policies will be planted during year 2013. However, their implementation will face severe resistance. Nevertheless, the year 2013 will be a progressive year in which a firm foundation of growth will be laid. Besides, the Mars-Jupiter period in America’s country Chart and the Venus-Jupiter exchange in the Oath and Inauguration Chart will help Obama post May 2013. The U.S. will start slowly crawling out of one of the worst economic downturns it has seen. Companies will start hiring and, thus the millions of unemployed Americans will finally see a ray of hope. Having said that, Ganesha feels that the unemployment may remain higher than the expectations during year 2013.

The President and Congress will take some bold steps in the year 2014, in order to deal with the rapidly expanding social programmes and defence budget. The income tax and corporate reforms and major insurance reforms may be implemented by the year 2014. Obama may have to agree to some of the reforms as a part of some grand bargain. Despite all the problems, Americans may enjoy a progressive period, as there will be a steady growth in the jobs and GDP. Also, there will be the signs of housing market finally experiencing some recovery, and an upward movement in consumer confidence, especially during the period between April 2014 and May 2015.

Obama may encounter many grave realities in international issues during his second term. He will have to face an aggressive political behaviour from the Islamic countries and the aftershocks of “Arab Spring”. However, he will try to balance the U.S. aspirations with the Islamic sensibilities. The transiting Saturn and Rahu may cause Obama a few problems, and he will find himself in tricky conditions, particularly regarding the Iran and Israel issue. There is a likelihood that some severe differences may jolt the relations of the long-time allies, USA and Israel. However, Jupiter’s influence in the Oath and Inauguration Chart may inspire Obama to take an alternative route, thus avoiding a war agianst Iran. Obama will intensify economic sanctions and the diplomatic pressure on Iran, which may strain the relationship further.

The competition between an established superpower USA and a rising superpower China will intensify during Obama’s 2nd term as the President. Obama will have to confront a more aggressive China around this time. Obama will seek to preserve the country’s waning power. The U.S. will confront China on the international rules on trade, human rights and maritime law, in particular. So, despite the fact that both the countries will try to develop a clear vision for their future relationship, there will be growing tensions underneath.

India will find a very important place in Obama’s re-balancing strategy in the Asia-Pacific region. Despite their differences, the US-India relations will be transformed and set on an upward trajectory, during Obama’s second term. The withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan and other countries may face some hurdles, and thus may not be completed as per the expected schedule. Pakistan-United States military and intelligence ties will continue to sour. America is likely to witness a more violent expression of terrorism, and there may also be a strong fight against it during Obama’s 2nd term. The Oath Chart and Inauguration Chart indicate a turbulent time ahead and some constraints and confusion may affect the President Obama, but he will be more decisive and stronger in his approach, and try to resolve the key issues with determination.
