India Vs Pakistan: Will It Be The Usual Or Will The Tables Turn?

India Vs Pakistan: Will It Be The Usual Or Will The Tables Turn?

The year was 2003, and the Indian Cricket Team had the names in it for the years. A dream batting side in many ways, it rode on the opening pair of Sachin Tendulkar and Virendra Sehwag’s explosives. The players to follow were captain Sourav Ganguly, with Sun in the first house of his birth chart, Mohammad Kaif, Yuvraj Singh, and Rahul Dravid. It was the country’s chance to repeat the glory of the ’83 Cricket World Cup. In front of them stood the bowling attack for the ages, in the match that would be remembered for ages. India Vs Pakistan.

Shoaib Akhtar, Waseem Akram, and Waqar Younis. They were no less than magicians with the balls; only magicians would have lesser tricks with balls than them! The second half of that match saw the clash of both these giants when India started chasing a mammoth 273 runs at Centurion against the lethal projectiles of Pakistan bowling. Well, Sachin got out in the ‘nervous’ 90s, Dravid did the things only he could do, and India pulled off the heist. India was still unbeaten against Pakistan since the beginning of the World Cup back in 1975.

Fast forward seven years, it is 2011, and Sehwag and Sachin are still opening for in the Semi-Finals for India Vs Pakistan. Only this time, the start is shakier than what it was seven years ago. Sachin has been given lifelines to hold on to, and Pakistan is missing chances they should have taken. Everything is going according to the script, at least for India! Sachin goes on to score an uncharacteristic 85, Pakistan crumbles against the pressure of the runs, and India carries on their unbeaten streak against Pakistan in the World Cups.

In that 2011 match, India was captained by one of the most successful captains of the country, MS Dhoni, who has Saturn and Jupiter in the perfect rhythm in his birth chart. In his own fairy tale, MS Dhoni had also beaten Pakistan in a T20 World Cup final in 2007. This time, without our batting heroes, a completely new/young team, and in a format that no one took seriously. Little did anybody know, that final shot of Pakistani captain Misbah-ul-Haq would be etched into the memories of the cricket fans on either side of the border!

That win made India aware of the format that was just like their movies. Full of Masala! The popularity of the T20 brought a domestic league that changed Cricket for India and overseas in many ways. It also instilled the importance of T20 Cricket worldwide, which was somehow missing beforehand in the minds of the so-called gatekeepers of the game. T20 was a thing, and this was just the tail of the monster.

The year now is 2021, we are on the verge of another India Vs Pakistan game, and some things have not changed. India is looking good with their batting, the political tensions have not moved an inch between the two countries, and yes, a World Cup win against India still eludes Pakistan to this date. (We will keep that Champions Trophy Final of 2017 out of this discussion for technical reasons!)

On Oct 24, 2021, India and Pakistan will kick off their 2021 T20 World Cup campaign, facing each other. This time, the captain is Virat Kohli, one of the most talented athletes in the world, but carrying bad memories of that Champions Trophy final, we would not talk about. The Pakistani captain, similarly, is a promising talent hailed as one of the best in T20 by many. Both sides are well-balanced and must be itching to start their world cup with a high that comes from winning an India Vs Pakistan game.

So, is history about to repeat itself, and it would be just another world cup match of disappointment for Pakistan, or there’s a fault in Virat Kohli’s stars?

Talking of Kohli’s stars, the Sun is in its own sign in his horoscope. If you have ever seen him on the field walking towards the umpire after a wrong decision, the blessings of the Sun might be the reason. It fills him with the confidence he possesses. In the same house, the shadow planet Ketu influences the Sun.

Once again, the combination is what makes him the aggressive captain that he is. The rise of Indian fast bowlers has always been attributed to Kohli’s way of captaincy and his love for aggression. However, all is not about the brawls with captain Kohli, though. There’s Mercury in Virgo in his Solar chart, where all the intelligent tactics come from. We sure hope it shines through in this match, too!

His counterpart, Babar Azam, is blessed with Venus and Saturn. Both the planets sit in their own respective signs. Venus gets him the fame he has achieved, and Saturn is there to inspire him to do all the hard work that is needed to beat the best in the world. The upcoming transit of Jupiter is also looking positive for the Pakistani captain. (worried smiles!)

With a neutral venue of Dubai, a combination of 20 other players apart from the captains, and influences of their planets will also affect the match. The captains make it hang in the balance for now. We, from our end, like the thrill of the game and do not believe in spoilers.

So, let’s see who grabs the ‘mauka’ this time, and on which side the TVs should fear for their dear life!
